Hike from our campground

lava formation
After our first of 2 nights camping, we spent the next day
hiking from the camp to the new volcanic craters, Magni and Modi,
formed during Eyjafjallajokull's 2010 eruption. Here is a natural
arch seen along the trail.

As usual it was cloudy. Here you can get a good look
at the trail and the terrain.

Getting close to the craters, we hiked across a snow
field that mostly covered a very large lava field.
It looked like it was going to rain, but it never did.
