Khan al-Khalili Bazaar, originally built in 1382, one of
the biggest bazaars in the Middle East. It is a series of
alleys lined with shops. There was a terrorist attack here
in April 2005. A suicide bomber killed 3 tourists and
injured others. After returning home, I received an
email from the State Department advising that travel
to Egypt is risky. I had signed up for travel alerts on
Egypt.

Room at the Egyptian Museum. This is a scanned
postcard, as no picture taking is allowed in the
museum.
Gold funerary mask of Tutankhamen -
Egyptian Museum. From 18th century dynasty,
1347-1337 BC. The mask was fitted on the face and
shoulders of the mummy in the innermost coffin. One of
1700 items from the boy king's tomb, which is located
in the Valley of the Kings.
In the Egyptian Museum, the
Throne of Tutankhamen, only throne remaining from
ancient Egypt. Shows the queen facing Tut touching
his shoulders. Inlaid with gold and ebony.
