The Temple of Horus was buried under sand
for 1000s of years. Construction was begun under
Ptolemy III in 237 BC. The imposing pylon you
see is decorated with scenes of Ptolemy XII
defeating his enemies in front of the god Horus
and goddess Hathor.
Image of Ptolemy XII on the pylon presenting a gift.
On the main street in Edfu. Photo taken from the
horse drawn carriage that took us to and from the
boat dock in Edfu to the Temple of Horus.

galabela dress on board our cruise ship.
Margaret, Mercedes, and Shirley having lunch
on a deck of the cruise ship.
Mercedes and Margaret taking an Egyptian
cooking lesson on board. Pat and Shirley skipped
the cooking lesson and also skipped the napkin
folding lesson.
Pat and Shirley did not skip the galabela party in the evening
and were caught in this group shot by the ship's photographer.
Our tour guide, Assem, is on the right.
Egyptian humor. The ship's crew found my sunglasses
and Egypt tour book on the bed and used them as props
for the towel that they folded in the shape of an animal.
When we came back to the room after dinner, we found what
they had crafted.
