Killarney
-Lower Lake (Lough Leane). Killarney is located amidst mountain, woodland & lake
scenery. A broad valley holds 3 main lakes with Lough Leane closest to Killarney.
Cahergall Stone Ring Fort - Ring Forts were built sometime between 500 BC and 300 AD without use of
mortar or cement. Most believe that the people who built them would have retreated to them at times of
tribal war, as this was when civilization was changing from nomadic hunter-gatherers to farming/herders, who
likely brought their stock inside to protect them from ancient rustlers. As you can see, this was a very rainy
and overcast day.
View along the Ring of Kerry
(Iveragh Peninsula) on a rainy day. The Ring is the winding coastal road through mountainous,
coastal, and lake scenery. The tourist buses all have to drive in the same direction.
