Tour du Mont Blanc (Mont Blanc Circuit)
July 4 - July 20, 2014
Part Three - Tour du Mont Blanc - Courmayeur, Italy back to Chamonix, France
Page Eleven - Hike 8 - Champex, Switzerland to Col de la Forclaz, Switzerland
We hiked from Champex on the Bovine route up to a view of the Rhone
Valley and the town of Martigny. Here is "holy cow" next to the cross
near a farmhouse, as coined by Stephane.

Passing the cows
A cow near another mountain hut
This woman and her male partner (not seen here) were using
horses to carry their belongings while hiking. Their dogs accompanied them.
This cow wears his heart on his forehead, not on his sleeve.
Beautiful view from the hut. Rhone valley far below.
The Alpage Bovine hut below. Some of us took a longer, higher
route to Col de la Forclaz from this hut. The rest continued
straight ahead from the hut on the lower route.

to a wooden cross. Oberland area behind.
View from the high point. We envisioned Julie Andrews coming
over the rise any moment singing "The hills are alive with the
sound of music."
Looking down into the area to which we would soon descend.
