Aiguille du Midi, Mont Blanc, Dome du Gouter, and Aiguille du Gouter from
the Arve River in Chamonix. You can see how Dome du Gouter appears
larger from many angles in Chamonix than Mont Blanc, even though it is
14,121 ft. high and Mont Blanc is 15,782 ft. high

Stephane marked each of our maps showing the route and hikes each of us
actually took on the tour. Here are Harold,
Stephane, and Jackie. We were at the outdoor patio of our hotel prior to walking
to a nearby restaurant for our farewell dinner.
Our van driver and provider of our daily lunches, Anne-Laure.
She was previously a member of the
French national ski team,
placing 12th in the world one year in the downhill. She is smiling
as Stefane presented Jeff with his certificate of completion of
the Tour du Mont Blanc (Mont Blanc Circuit).

our last night in Chamonix
Geneva, Switzerland and Lake Geneva
Jeff and Pat took the Mountain Travel Sobek provided
transfer to the Geneva Airport from Chamonix on July 19, but
we stayed at a hotel in Geneva near the airport that night before
flying back to Denver.
Lake Geneva and Geneva
A bird checking for food
Jet d'Eau is a large fountain in Geneva and a famous landmark there. It is
one of the largest fountains in the world and is situated at the point
where Lake Geneva empties into the Rhone.
There are many swans around the shoreline.
Another view of Jet d' Eau and part of Geneva
The famous Geneva flower clock, whose floral arrangements change
with the season. It tells the time with Swiss precision, as the time is
transmitted by satellite. Time for us to go home.
