In remote areas of Nepal like this one, people have not practiced good sanitation and have traditionally defecated in the open.
This is a sign intended to positively promote the use of toilets.

Returning to the first village we visited on this hike above the river

Inside a home occupied by a grandmother, mother, and baby boy. The husband
was away working in another country.

A young boy proud to show us his pet monkey. He was living in a shack alongside the Seti River.

In the evenings at the Seti River Camp, we gathered around a fireplace for snacks and drinks.

Since the rapids were stronger and more numerous on the trip away from the River Camp, we were loaned wet suits for this portion.
We could have used them the first day as well. From left to right: Mick from Washington, John from California, Gunilla from California,
Kylee from Washington, Janelle from North Carolina, Bill from North Carolina, June in back from Delaware, Larry from Maryland,
Jill in back from Maryland, Pat from Colorado, Jan from Delaware, Gynnie and Terry from Delaware. Vanie from Little Rock, Arkansas
had not shown up yet.
